Maestro: How to Get StartedDeploy file virtualization in a gradual, low-risk mannerAn evolutionary approach to achieve revolutionary resultsMaestro is completely non-disruptive to your existing file system, server, and security environment. No new software is installed on any client, server, or the domain controller. No changes are required to DNS configurations. Maestro simply looks like a Windows-based file server to clients and like a client to NAS filers. Companies can choose to implement Maestro in a gradual manner, incrementally deploying new, robust virtualization capabilities across your existing file server and NAS infrastructure. This is accomplished by using the following three operational stages, singly or concurrently: Out-of-band mode. Maestro is not deployed in the data path between clients and file services. Used for reporting and analysis. Native mode. Files are accessed in native format in their original network location. Extended mode. Provides robust capabilities and the maximum benefits of file virtualization. Maestro’s Dual Path access allows some clients to access their data directly, while other users access the same data through the Maestro virtual namespace. This can be used for a few servers, a few clients, a whole department, or the entire company. It gives users and administrators the option to gradually introduce functionality based on their needs. Using out-of-band and native modes, companies preserve the client view of their content while providing significant cost saving policy-based management, in-depth resource discovery, alerts, reporting and proactive intervention to avoid disruption and preserve business continuity in a fashion that no other product can today. To make it even easier for companies to start realizing the benefits of Maestro, Attune Systems offers Maestro Symphony Reporting, a professional service for customers who first want to learn about their file system before implementing Maestro’s more sophisticated and powerful virtualization capabilities. Using Maestro, Enterprises can audit, assess, and monitor their file server and file system environment. |
