Network World Names Attune Systems To “Top 10 Start-Ups That Should Matter” List

Network World Startups that shuold matter

Santa Clara, Calif. – January 8, 2008 – Attune Systems, Inc., a provider of enterprise-class file virtualization solutions, today announced that it has been selected to the “top 10 tech start-ups that should matter” list published by Network World. During 2007, Network World designated more than 90 start-ups as worth watching. In August 2007, Attune was named one of the Network World “top 10 virtualization companies to watch.” At the end of the year, the publication picked only the top 10 companies that are “offering what matters most in the enterprise – agility, seamless integration, and pervasive connectivity.” Attune Systems is one of them.

Stating that “technologies like virtualization, collaboration, and security matter a lot in the enterprise these days, and these companies shine with innovative approaches to them”, the article covers aspects of the winning companies such as management team, product line, funding, and customers. In the Attune profile, the editor talks about the end-user benefits of the Attune Maestro File Manager™, which “eliminates the hours IT managers can spend working out how to locate and archive critical files, plus it helps identify file owners, among other nifty management features.”

The publication recognizes the accomplishments achieved by Attune these past months. “It added a lower-cost member to its Maestro File Manager family. It has added new capabilities, such as a text-based interface, policy-based backup, and forensic file search.” The Network World editor also spoke with one of Attune’s customers, Zak Khalil, MIS manager at Lessard Group, who confirmed that the Maestro File Manager “runs with any existing storage…it's very easy to implement, and it works.”

“Getting recognition for the second time from a top-caliber publication such as Network World is a great achievement for us and validates our business efforts,” said Alan Kessler, CEO of Attune Systems. “We are proud of our accomplishments and, more than this, we are proud of the increasing interest our file virtualization solutions are getting from enterprise customers looking for cost-effective and secure tools to manage and protect their unstructured data. The article recognizes the market opportunity that lies ahead of us, and the great acceptance that our solutions continue to experience in this market.”
