Press ReleaseAttune Systems Backs Aberdeen Group’s Independent Virtualization Report Reducing Data Center Complexity is the Main Reason Customers are Adopting Storage Virtualization Santa Clara, Calif. – March 21, 2007 – Attune Systems, Inc., a provider of enterprise-class file virtualization solutions, today announced the company is supporting the recent Aberdeen Group end-user survey on storage and server virtualization. The highly educational report reveals that more customers are turning to virtualization to ease data center headaches such as the need to improve utilization rates, reduce data center complexity and manage costs. Tiered storage implementation, controlling rapid capacity growth and non-disruptive data migration also made the list of top business drivers. Aberdeen surveyed more than 140 end-users. One of the top benchmark report’s key findings is that 47% of companies surveyed either are evaluating or plan to adopt storage virtualization within 6 to 18 months. Furthermore, results concluded that 28% of the overall respondents have already deployed storage virtualization. Lelii, storage research analyst at Aberdeen Group’s Information Management practice. “With the growing awareness, press articles and announcements in the storage virtualization arena – especially in file virtualization – this is an ideal time to market such a solution.” “We are glad to support Aberdeen’s independent customer research efforts and to help the market understand the benefits of virtualizing existing, heterogeneous storage environments,” stated Daniel Liddle, Attune’s vice president of marketing. “It’s gratifying to see that the results we are getting from our own customer-based Maestro Symphony Reporting™ are resonating in the findings of yet another independent research authority.” “The Attune Symphony reports are a great tool for resellers. They provide a comprehensive discovery, analysis, management and optimization analysis of our customers’ heterogeneous storage resources,” said Chris St. Thomas, president of Nsight Technologies in Tampa, Florida. "The results from our previous implementations align with Attune’s findings and by offering our customers the opportunity to better understand their environments, it also gives them a higher return on their prior storage investments.” About Attune Systems About Aberdeen Group (a Harte-Hanks Company) Attune and Maestro File Manager are trademarks or registered trademarks of Attune Systems, Inc.
