Attune Systems Summarizes Data Storage Report Findings Based on its Mid-Market Customers

Maestro Symphony Reporting™ Reports Reveal Aggregate Customer Results, Not Estimated Forecasts

Santa Clara, Calif. – March 14, 2007 – Attune Systems, Inc., a provider of enterprise-class file virtualization solutions, today announced aggregate findings of the Attune Maestro Symphony Reporting™ Service reports performed on mid-market end-user environments with predominantly Common Internet File System (CIFS)-based unstructured file data. This includes Attune customers in a wide range of vertical markets such as healthcare, social services, financial services, architectural design, and information technology. The current findings focus on mid-market customers and can be considered related to, but distinct from report findings for their large enterprise environments.

Some key findings from Attune’s mid-market customer reports include:

  • Typical customer has not accessed 39% of its files in more than six months

  • Customer average capacity utilization is 38%

  • Server average memory utilization is 57%

  • 15% of all servers suffer from high utilization loads and need more memory

  • Server average throughput is idle 54% of the time

  • 19% of the unstructured file capacity in a typical customer environment is consumed by music, video, or image files

  • 15-20% of file system capacity can be saved by consolidating duplicate files
