Attune Systems Secures $14 Million and Adds New Investors in Latest Funding Round

Maintains “Up” Round Valuation and Existing Investor Participation

Santa Clara, Calif. – November 14, 2006 – Attune Systems, Inc., a provider of enterprise-class network file management solutions, today announced that it has received $14 million in a new venture funding round led by RWI Ventures. The up-round follows significant market momentum, with advances in Attune’s R&D efforts resulting in nine patents, and comes at a time when awareness and adoption within the market for file virtualization is expanding rapidly. Participation in this round also included GF Private Equity Group, LLC as a new investor, and existing investors Alloy Ventures, QTV Capital, Rock Creek Capital and Shea Ventures. The funds raised will be used to ramp up sales, marketing, as well as additional R&D and support efforts.

“After conducting an in-depth analysis of the market opportunity and unique capabilities offered by Attune, we had detailed discussions with existing customers and partners. Based upon the strong results of our evaluation, we are excited to lead this round and help Attune continue their momentum and leadership position with their unique Windows-based file virtualization solution,” said William Baumel of RWI Ventures. “We are confident that the company will continue to build upon the strong customer traction and strategic partnerships that it has already established.”

“We are pleased to add solid, new investors while keeping our existing investment partners deeply involved. This new round of funding further validates our strategy and provides the company sufficient resources to continue achieving our corporate growth objectives for the foreseeable future,” said Alan Kessler, Attune’s chief executive officer. “We are committed to solving real customer issues with a low-risk, feature-rich file virtualization solution at an attractive price point. This funding puts us in a position to continue the momentum we’ve built with customers and previously announced partners such as Microsoft, NetApp and Google.”

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

“After an extensive evaluation of Attune’s Maestro File manager, we are impressed with Attune’s comprehensive file virtualization solution and found it also to be a perfect fit for implementation of a low-cost virtual storage pool from which we can index and analyze files. We are deploying multiple Maestro systems for this purpose in the following months, as we build upon the current large-scale data migration project that is underway. File virtualization from Attune is able to help us with a number of other such sophisticated and diverse projects,” stated Kevin Haynes, technology security manager for the City of Jacksonville. “Specifically, the unique discovery and reporting capabilities allow us to easily understand how our current resources perform, how they can be improved, and how to avoid disruption while keeping up with our growing network file management needs.”

“After running a comprehensive Maestro Symphony report on my file storage infrastructure, I was able to see detailed file data usage across resources and also understand how our heterogeneous servers are performing over time,” said David deValk, vice president of operations for Reflex Security, Inc., a leader in network intrusion prevention solutions. “The benefits were immediately obvious. For example, when it appeared that we needed to add an additional server due to load and performance degradation, after looking at the Symphony report, it was clear that all we needed was more memory! Between reducing operating expenditures and increasing efficiency of existing resources, it became clear to us that Attune had the best file virtualization solution out there.”

Attune’s NAS virtualization appliance, the Maestro File Manager FM5500™, gives system administrators the ability to gradually and non-disruptively deploy leading-edge file virtualization technology, as well as provide global namespace, tiering and non-disruptive migration across their Windows-based environments. The Maestro Symphony Reporting™, a professional service offering designed specifically for Attune’s channel partners, complements the product offering and allows resellers to provide customers a discovery, analysis, management and optimization service for their existing, heterogeneous storage resources. By temporarily and non-disruptively deploying Attune’s Maestro File Manager in their customers’ environments, resellers can use it to audit, assess and monitor mission-critical information necessary to maintain business continuity and increase the performance of their existing infrastructure.
